David came to Louis T. Roth & Co. in 1983. He provides tax and accounting services for individuals and closely held businesses, as well as business consulting from the startup of a new business to the sale of an established business, always keeping in mind the needs of the individual owners. With over 30 years of professional experience, David has developed the necessary acumen to assist his clients with complex tax issues and the hard decisions they face in their personal and professional lives. In addition to his client responsibilities, he is part of the firm’s executive committee–helping to steer LTR’s course–and has been responsible for the firm’s Quality Reviews for the past 20 years.
Before Louis T. Roth & Co. landed David, he worked for almost four years in the audit department at a regional CPA firm. There he assisted clients in the banking, construction and manufacturing industries. David’s current core client base includes construction and specialty contracting companies, law firms, insurance agencies, wholesale and manufacturing organizations as well as hundreds of individuals for whom he does tax returns.
His client service aptitude isn’t the only thing that makes him stand out. David is frequently a featured speaker for accounting professionals, training others in the art of tax and accounting services. At the firm, he regularly presents on construction accounting and tax to his colleagues. Outside of the office, his topics include construction accounting and tax, individual tax, financial statements, fraud, LLC vs. S Corp, and estate planning. In addition, his article “Quality Review: Just a Walk in the Park” was published by the Kentucky Society of CPAs and Tennessee Society of CPAs.
David currently lives in Louisville. He loves traveling, playing golf, and shooting skeet and sporting clays. David can often be found trying his luck at a game of pool or poker.
